The last price time I had checked the price for the Harmony One Remote  it was $300.   Best Buy was on our way home and I wanted to check in to see if it had gone down.  After asking three  Best Buy Employees where the touch screen remotes were I finally found myself in digital heaven. The list price was $250.  I quickly searched ‘Harmony One Prices’ on my Blackberry and found it online at the Apple store for $199 and at NewEgg.com for $189.  Best Buy is so desperate for you to buy their stuff they will usually price match.I made my way to the checkout counter and asked if they price matched.  The store consultant replied, ‘If it’s on our list of store, sure.’  I let him it was for $199 at the apple store.  I also offered to show him the price on my Blackberry.  The store consultant said it was unneccessary but would check his list of stores.   I told him, “If you price match it for me, I’ll buy it right now.”    The consultant took my remote to the counter and said Apple didnt’ come up as the list of approved stores.  But he said he would price match it anyways and selected the Other option on his computer.  Just like that I saved $50.    Lesson learned.  1)Always try to price match.  2) Carry a wireless device that will let you browse the web.

Best buy has a pretty good Price Match Guarantee.  Always scope out Walmart or Kohl’s online first before going to the store.

p.s. – i love my Harmony Remote.  It’s gotten rid of the clutter that surrounds my life.

I heart Canon. They make the BEST cameras. My camera recently got stolen and my brother helped me replace it with a PowerShot SD780IS.

You can still get a great camera and negotiate the best price. Here’s how you can negotiate. First, figure out your feature list.

• Has a normal screen
• Let’s you swap colors
• Has a viewfinder
• Excellent battery life
• Image stabilization (so you can take pictures of people running)
• 12.1 Megapixels

I typically scope out the type of camera I want on walmart.com or jandr.com.     They usually have the cheapest price and most stores match their prices.  If the camera is $199 at walmart.com it will probably be $10-20 more at BestBuy.  When you are in the store just tell the sales guy that you saw it at walmart for $199 and if they can price match for you.  They’ll usually lower the price.  They have a price comparison chart and will almost always drop the price for you once they’ve checked it on their device.  Also, see if they’ll throw in a free memory stick or case.  You never know!

Before you purchase anything ask the shopkeeper, is anything on sale? If I buy more than 2, can you give me a good discount? He’ll usually throw in a couple items for free. If he doesn’t bargain, then move on to the next gift shop!
